Family reunions used to be sacred gatherings filled with storytelling, laughter, music, and legacy. This February 2027, we’re bringing that spirit back in South Africa.

Our Family Reunion: South Africa Edition is a 12-day journey beginning in Cape Town and ending in Johannesburg. This experience blends culture, history, adventure, reflection, and celebration.

Together we will:

• Explore Cape Town’s iconic beauty
• Visit Robben Island and reflect on legacy
• Enjoy a scenic Cape Peninsula road trip
• Experience Soweto’s rich history and culture
• Go on safari in Pilanesberg National Park
• Share a traditional meal inside a local South African home
• Celebrate with a Reunion All-White Dinner & Farewell Banquet

CANCELLATION POLICY

As part of the booking process, Grateful Wanderer Travel, LLC (GWT) wants to bring to your attention our cancellation policy. Please be advised that the deposits and payments made for your travel arrangements are non-refundable and non-transferable. This means that in the event of cancellation, deposits, and payments will not be eligible for a refund or transfer to another traveler. 


We understand that unexpected situations may arise, leading to changes in your travel plans. To safeguard your investment, we require travel insurance. Travel insurance provides coverage for various situations, such as trip cancellations, trip interruptions, and medical emergencies, offering you peace of mind in case of unforeseen circumstances.

EARLY ARRIVAL AND LATE DEPARTURES NOTICE

Important Dates: Plan your travel to arrive 18 February 2027 into Cape Town (CPT) and depart Johannesburg (JNB) 1 March 2027.


If you plan to arrive before the official start of the group trip or depart after its conclusion, please be advised that you will be 100% responsible for your hotel accommodations and airport transportation during these extended periods. Our group rates and transportation arrangements are specifically tailored to the official trip dates, and any additional nights or arrangements fall outside the scope of our group booking.

NO WAIT POLICY

Group Departure Times Will Be Honored

All group activities, excursions, and transfers will depart promptly at the scheduled time. We kindly ask that you arrive 10–15 minutes early to each meeting point to ensure a smooth and timely departure.

We Will Not Delay for Late Arrivals

To maintain the integrity of the itinerary and respect everyone’s time, we will not wait for individuals who arrive late. If you miss a departure due to tardiness, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the next scheduled location at your own expense.

Communication Is Key

If you're experiencing an emergency or delay, please notify your Trip Host immediately via WhatsApp or the designated contact method. While we cannot delay departures, we will do our best to support you in catching up with the group.

Travel Responsibly

Please manage your time wisely and treat scheduled times as firm commitments. Being on time not only ensures you enjoy the full experience it also shows respect for your fellow travelers and the communities we visit.

WELCOME HOME – ARRIVAL IN CAPE TOWN

Arriving in South Africa involves several steps to ensure a smooth and pleasant travel experience. Here's a guide to help you navigate the process:


Arrival in South Africa:

  1. Immigration and Passport Control: Upon arriving at the airport in South Africa, proceed to the immigration and passport control area. Have your passport, visa (if required), and any supporting documents ready for inspection.

  2. Customs Declaration: If you are carrying goods that need to be declared, such as currency above the allowed limit or specific items, fill out the required customs declaration form. Be prepared to present it to customs officials if asked.

  3. Baggage Claim: After clearing immigration and customs, head to the baggage claim area to collect your checked luggage. Look for monitors or overhead screens to find your flight's carousel number.

  4. Ground Transportation: Airport Transportation will be provided.

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport (CPT), you will be greeted and transferred to our 4-star hotel. Grateful Wanderer Travel Staff members will be in the arrival hall waiting to transport you.

This is a powerful day.

We visit Robben Island (weather permitting) — where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned — and reflect on freedom, sacrifice, and resilience.

As you venture into this charming destination, get ready to indulge your senses with world-class wines, breathtaking scenery, and a rich tapestry of history and culture. Stellenbosch is a wine lover's paradise, boasting some of the country's finest vineyards and wine estates.

Embark on a wine-tasting journey through rolling vineyards, where you can sample a variety of award-winning wines, from crisp whites to full-bodied reds. Visit iconic wine estates such as Delaire Graff, Spier, and Tokara, where you can savor the flavors, learn about the winemaking process, and enjoy stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains.

Today is yours to seize as you choose your own adventure, whether you're eager to immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture, seek out thrilling experiences, or simply unwind and bid farewell to Cape Town in style.


Explore the bustling craft markets, where you can peruse a kaleidoscope of handmade treasures, unique artworks, and authentic souvenirs crafted by local artisans. From intricate beadwork to vibrant textiles, there's something to captivate every eye and heart.


For the adventurous spirits among us, take to the skies for an adrenaline-pumping paragliding escapade above Cape Town's iconic landscapes. Feel the rush of wind beneath your wings as you soar high above the city and coastline, drinking in the breathtaking vistas that stretch to the horizon. 


Alternatively, delve into the poignant history of South Africa with a tour of Robben Island, where you can walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela and gain profound insights into the country's journey toward freedom and reconciliation. Guests will dress in their most beautiful sundresses and resort-style attire as we step into a curated evening designed for connection and elevated relaxation.
